What Voters are Saying
Here is what voters in Kelowna – Lake Country – Coldstream are saying about Tara Armstrong.
“This is not who I voted for. I voted Conservative and Ms. Armstrong has turned out to be something else. Frankly, I feel betrayed. She has abused my trust in the political system.”
Stephen C.
Coldstream, BC
“Tara Armstrong is an ineffectual MLA. She is not working for her constituents. She has her own agenda and this is where all her focus is directed.”
Karen T.
Coldstream, BC
“I strongly feel that Tara Armstrong is presenting harmful legislation and propagating lies about Trans and indigenous people. She will make our communities less safe and inclusive while ignoring the real concerns of our community.”
Karen L.
Lake Country, BC
“I cannot stay silent and let her destroy people with her hateful rhetoric.”
Diane S.J.
Lake Country, BC
“I was offended when Ms. Armstrong could not be bothered to attend any all candidates meetings prior to becoming elected as my MLA. Since becoming elected, she has not honored her stated objectives, but rather has applied her focus only to taking away the rights of those who do not fit within her very narrow view of acceptable traits and qualities. I also object to her attempts to demean and disqualify the indigenous population, as well as her initial support of Dallas Brodie. It would seem that we taxpayers are paying this MLA to espouse her own slanted and prejudiced views, and not support the communities that she was elected to represent.”
Christine M.
Coldstream, BC
“I’m very disappointed in the direction she has taken.”
Cecile W.
Lake Country, BC
“I do not support her stance on any issues and feel this is a perfect recall issue. As well she is not appearing in the community or at meetings to inform the voters why her sudden change on so many important issues that in the end divide our community.”
Adrienne T.
Coldstream, BC
“I think all the constituents should have a say when an elected official switches parties. I also do not think Tara Armstrong is focused on our community and that she is more interested in distraction politics.”
Raeleen M.
Lake Country, BC
“I am disturbed and troubled by Armstrong’s homophobic and racist actions/comments. More, I have noted she is not adequately representing her constituents. Rather she has been cavalier with her duties. She does not deserve her pay cheque.”
Cori D.
Kelowna, BC
“I live in Lake Country, I didn’t vote for Tara in the last provincial election, I found her brand of politics upsetting, disgusting and did not reflect my values. I am in support of everything she isn’t. Her abusive views, and introduction of many irrelevant bills in the BC Legislature is simply following the American trend today. She must be recalled.”
Garth C.
Lake Country, BC
“I believe that elected officials have the legal, ethical and moral responsibility to represent their constituents as fully and transparently as possible and not promote their personal ideological perspectives. Meeting the requirements of the MLA requires ongoing communication with constituents… both listening to and collaborating with community members to understand what their priorities are. I have not seen any attempts by Ms Armstrong to meet these criteria. To the contrary she has been largely absent from any communication or collaboration to meet our communities considerable needs at the provincial level. She has in fact promoted detrimental statements that have marginalized several groups and promoted undermining the wellbeing of the very people she is meant to be representing as well as the BC public. For these reasons and others I believe she needs to be recalled.”
Gail B.
Kelowna, BC
“I do not believe Tara represents me as a mixed race constituent nor that she has the best interest of her constituents in mind. Her only concern seems to be pushing her own hateful agenda and I have yet to see her do any meaningful work for the issues she campaigned on.”
Leslie J.
Kelowna, BC
“Our riding needs a representative who will pursue issues relevant to our community, not a personal vendetta against minorities.”
Janice N.
